I2S/SPDIF converter eval board
I needed convert some signals from I2S to SPDIF. There are two chips for this type of conversion. One of them is made by Wolfson (Cirrus Logic) WM8804. This chip is hard to get and is quite expensive. Second chip is made by Texas Instruments. It is "oposite" to DIR9001 and its name is DIT4096 (or dit4192 supports 192kHz s/r).
DIT 4096 overview :
●COMPLIANT WITH AES-3, IEC-60958, AND EIAJ CP1201 INTERFACE STANDARDS
●SUPPORTS SAMPLING RATES UP TO 96kHz
●HARDWARE MODE ALLOWS OPERATION WITHOUT A MICROCONTROLLER
●ON-CHIP DIFFERENTIAL LINE DRIVER FLEXIBLE AUDIO SERIAL INTERFACE:
Master or Slave Mode Operation Supports I2S, Left-Justified, and Right-Justified Data Formats
So i choose this type and made small eval board. There is a few thinks for setup, so i use pinhead strip 2.54mm and jumpers for hardware setup.
